Isaac hoping for injury free season

SP Hunter Dilbert Isaac says he is excited to return from a thumb injury which saw the forward play just five matches in the Hostplus Cup in Queensland last season.
“This pre-season training is tough, but we are doing well so far,” the Chimbu native said last week.
“I have been struggling to regain my fitness for the last two weeks, but am now slowly returning to peak condition.”
After playing in rural competitions for two years, the Chuave man was scouted by Chimbu Digicel Cup franchise, TNA Lions, in 2014.
The following year, he made his first grand final appearance when the Lions faced Rabaul Gurias.
The Agmark-sponsored Gurias scouted the young forward in 2016, but later released him due to an injury.
Isaac was recalled in 2017 by the Rabaul side where he was selected for the annual Prime Minister’s 13 fixture against Australia.
His representative selection saw him earn a Hunters spot for the 2018 Hostplus Cup (former Queensland Intrust Super Cup) season.
Since his Hunters inclusion, Isaac has had a poor run of injuries.
But the 29-year-old is hopeful of an injury-free 2022 campaign.
