ENGA police have been urged to keep the police barracks clean and tidy at all times.
Enga police commander Supt Martin Lakari said in a memo posted on the Wabag police notice board last Tuesday said there would be inspections of Lai, Aipus and Town single barracks.
Lakari said the inspections would cover flower beds, general lawn, interior of the buildings and any extension or unauthorised constructions.
He said single officers accommodating opposite sex in the single quarters must send their partners away immediately.
Lakari said dependents of the police personnel who were 18 years of age and above had been urged to move out the barracks.
He said he did not want to see domestic animals in the barracks.
Lakari said he would physically carry out an inspection on the three barracks in Wabag town on Wednesday to ensure that only official dependents were accommodated and also the barracks must be in order and look like the police barracks.
He said illegal activities like gambling, sale and consumption of alcohol, marijuana and many others in the barracks were not allowed and if he came across any, these people would be in “serious trouble”.
Lakari said if he found out that many other people were also being accommodated or sharing the same house, the officers concerned would be seriously dealt with under the Constabulary’s Barrack Regulations and Standing Orders.
