Jimi did it right

Letters

THANK you to the people and candidates in Jimi people for respecting the rule of law in conducting a peaceful election.
Though there were reports of election-related incidents and destruction and fighting reported in other parts of Jiwaka, it was relatively peaceful in lower, upper and middle Jimi.
That is an indication that Jimi people are as more civilised than other Jiwakans.
This also shows the level of maturity in candidates vying for the Jimi seat, the respect they have for the democratic process and the civility they’ve shown by controlling their supporters.
The majority have spoken through the ballots in re-electing incumbent Jimi MP Wake Goi.
I call on all candidates for Jimi Open and the educated Jimi elites to put aside political differences and come let us work together develop our disadvantaged electorate.
We all have to understand that there is only one seat for Jimi in Parliament.
