Brothers in the Capital Rugby Union (CRU) premier division and women’s team Nova have raised the bar of the competition after going undefeated all season, says official Paul Joseph.
“After 14 rounds of rugby, we are finally here at the business end of our season and on behalf of our sponsor Pacific Industries, CRU executives and our hard working match officials, I congratulate all our finalists competing over the next four weekends,” Joseph said.
“Well done to Kramer Ausenco Brothers and Moni Plus Nova for going through this season undefeated.
“That has definitely raised the bar for our competition.”
Harlequins made an amazing jump from the second last on the ladder into the top four.
Despite missing three games after the May 6 assault by former PNG Pukpuk Avosa Kaipu, the Harlequins made an impressive jump over past games.
“Week one of the finals will start tomorrow for our U19s and B Grade teams,” Joseph said.
He reminded all clubs to re-visit the competition rules to be aware of their responsibilities with regards to who plays in the finals and in which grade.
“CRU also wishes all finalists the very best. We reiterate that there can only be one winner and that we play the game accordingly with respect for our match and technical officials,” Joseph said.
