Juffa angered by ‘trespassing’ loggers

NORTHERN Governor Gary Juffa has again lashed out at loggers whom he claims trespassed into traditional land in Musa this week.
“It is of our knowledge that illegal loggers have trespassed on traditional land in Musa and are currently operating without proper permits and authorisation from the provincial government,” Juffa said.
He said the provincial government had not sighted any documentation to prove the legitimacy of the current logging operation.
“By entering this land without proper clearance, they have broken traditional taboo as well,” Juffa said.
“My government has always taken a strong stance against illegal logging in the province and will not take this matter lightly.
“We will disperse the strength of the law against the perpetrators.
“My government is fighting many battles on many fronts to protect genuine landowners who often do not have the means to fight for their rights.
“It is costly and time consuming.
“Sadly, most Government entities responsible have been irresponsible and have instead facilitated these scams.”
