AN officer with the national functions of the Morobe government told the juveniles of Erap Boys’ Town and Buimo juvenile lock-up to put God first in order to see the positive side of life.
Director national functions Fiona Gesa urged the young boys to look at themselves as leaders in the making and they should have a positive approach towards life.
“You are now here at the juvenile lockup at Buimo prison or at Erap Boys’ Town not because the community neglected you, it was because your conduct in the community has not been good and that you have broken the law,” she told them.
Gesa spoke to them during the International Children’s Day which was celebrated at Buimo prison in Lae on Nov 18.
She told the juveniles to look at life positively from “inside” and to start thinking of having a brighter future when they were outside.
“When you leave these places and go back to your respective communities, do your best not to come back here,” she said.
“Take this as your turning point to a better life that is ahead of you.
“You will never be the same little person you are at the moment.”
She told the juveniles that they had a long way to go in life and they have to start planning now.
