THE Bank South Pacific has delivered more than 400 community projects in PNG and other countries it operates in for more than K10 million, a bank official says.
BSP head of marketing and public relations Gorethy Semi said: “We continue to do so this year equipping our communities with wash stations (installation of tanks and sinks), medical equipment for hospitals and equipment for schools (computers and accessories).
“Each of our community project is worth K30,000 and this year we’re delivering 46 projects in PNG plus 100 wash stations to communities in response to the Covid-19.”
BSP head of support services Alicia Sahib said BSP’s biggest social justice campaign on gender, family and sexual violence is its #BlackThursdays to assist its staff who were survivors, advocates and perpetrators.
“BSP recognises the pervasiveness and severity of family and sexual violence impacting the workplace which demands everyone’s attention,” Sahib said.
“Therefore, BSP is committed to providing a safer and supportive organisational climate for its staff who are faced with family and sexual violence and subsequently its broader impact within the community.”
The #BlackThursdays campaign is to stand in solidarity with victims and survivors of violence, making it known that BSP does not tolerate any form of violence.
