K30,000 for debate winner

THE winner of this year’s Institute of Business Studies debating competition which begins next week will receive a hefty K30,000.Established four years ago, the competition will cover two new provinces-Western Highlands and Milne Bay.Seventy schools are expected to take part in the debate that starts this month and runs until September.Schools will be taking part at the provincial, regional and national levels.
Institute innovation and development manager Vani Davis said they were happy to be developing young leaders through such an initiative. Finance company, Moni Plus, provided the prize money and managing director David Kelso said it was proud to be part of the competition and happy to be supporting anything to do with education.He said education was an area the company was serious in, particularly, for clients who took loans for educational matters such as settling school fees.General manager Gajanan Barve said Moni Plus extended loans to help parents meet school fees and other personal needs at affordable interest rates  
Institute director Sadiq Ali commended the company for its show of support.The debate participating centres are Kokopo, Lae, Enga, Mt Hagen, Alotau, National Capital District and Central. Competition will start in the southern region this month. It will continue next month in Mamose, New Guinea Islands and Mt Hagen.
