THREE Kainantu-based policemen are facing court for allegedly stealing goods worth K30,000 from a Goroka supermarket.
Goroka police arrested and charged policemen Jeffery Keuri, Jerry Bauso and Manda Simon for allegedly aiding members of the public into the Bintangor Supermarket and stealing goods on Dec 7 last year. Items stolen were valued over K30,000 but it is believed the matter was settled by those concerned.
Bintangor Trading management had lodged a formal complaint.
The three were released on a K1000 bail each and awaiting completion of police files.
A lawyer representing the defendants filed a no case to answer submission in the Goroka Committal Court but magistrate Cosmos Inkisopo adjourned the case to Friday.
