THE Central government has allocated K3 million for the reconstruction Goilala’s Aiwara-Tapini road which had never been repaired or upgraded.
The allocation was announced on Saturday in Tapini by Central Governor Alphonse Moroi who said the lack of good roads and bridges had continued to impede the flow of basic services to the people.
He said this was an area the provincial government was addressing to enable the people to benefit government services and improve their livelihoods, adding that the district had “huge farming potential needs to an efficient transport link”.
Moroi said he had also released K300,000 in mobilisation  funds for the road project to begin.
“The project is to be coordinated by the Catholic mission from the Tapini station and an additional K600,000 will also be made available for the initial construction of two bridges along the road.”
Moroi reassured that the one-stop central market located in Boroko would accommodate people from Goilala to sell their garden produce and work would soon recommence to have it completed.
