BOSIP Kaiwi, accused of the murder of partner Jenelyn Kennedy, has been shifted to the main prison compound at Bomana after his 14-day isolation for the Covid-19, Correctional Services Commissioner Stephen Pokanis says.
He said Kaiwi’s isolation period at the CS Training College lapsed last Tuesday.
“He has been transferred to the main compound after he was cleared of Covid-19 as required under the Covid-19 protocol and will attend his court cases from the main compound,” Pokanis said. “He will be treated like the other 700 inmates who are also in the main compound.”
Earlier, Pokanis said Kaiwi was not given any special treatment.
“He is in a correctional services institution. He is not in a hotel. Kaiwi is also not that dangerous or a high-profile prisoner. It is the negative (social and mainstream) media hype that is centered on him. The media is uncontrollable.”
Kaiwi, 25, from Minj village, South Waghi, Jiwaka, was charged with the wilful murder of Kennedy, 19, the mother of his two children, at their house at Korobosea in Port Moresby on June 23.

  • He deserved being locked up just like any other inmates. I hope he’ll learn a difficult lesson there and change form it.

  • He is a murderer, He is extremely dangerous and should be locked away.
Don’t try to downgrade his evilness Mr. Commissioner.
What he did was a horrendous act. He tortured strangled, and left her to slowly die a painful death. He showed no signs of remorse and he wasn’t apologetic at all.
If she was your daughter, you will not be saying this.
    Use your common sense..!!
