Kalabond to host AFL youth talent carnival

AFLPNG is gearing up to host the East New Britain Youth Talent Carnival on Tuesday at Kalabond Oval in Kokopo.
All players participating in the Kokopo schools competition are invited to Kalabond Oval tomorrow for practice matches in preparation for the carnival.
The best young male and female Aussie Rules talent from the province will be showcased on Tuesday and the Tribal Foundation will conduct the ‘Senisim Pasin’ education programme on sorcery and family violence.
Participants will be grouped in Under-13 boys, U14 girls, U15 boys and U16 girls. Two hundred players are expected from the Kokopo and Rabaul districts and East New Britain academy squads will then be selected from the trial matches.
The top 20 players in each group will form the academy side then be eligible to compete at the national junior team trials next year.
