Kapuls duo help Genesis draw

The second round of the Port Moresby Soccer Association competition saw Genesis managing to secure a 2-2 draw with Seeadler.
Division rookies Seeadler were first to strike with a goal each from Chucha Posman and Pettysen Elizah in the first half before Genesis, boasting Kapuls duo Raymond Gunemba and Michael Foster, scored two goals to bring the match to a draw.
The second match on Saturday saw PS Rutz come from a goal down to beat Maclaren 2-1.
Yesterday’s fixtures saw defending champions Mungkas crush University 5-2.
Univesity without the presence of Kapul’s recruit Felix Komolong were unable to thwart a masterclass from the David Passam-coached side.
University’s goals came from Maru Rolu and Edwin Tabaria.
The final match of the round saw Momase beating Cosmos 2-0.
Competitions manager Paul Karambi has welcomed the return of NSL players and members of the Papua New Guinea Kapuls squad to the competition as he stressed that their involvement was a good way for them to keep fit and be prepared for national duties. The association over the weekend announced a 21-man side to play an exhibition match against the Kapuls at the Bisini Soccer Grounds on Wednesday.
The match is part of the Kapuls’ preparations for next month’s Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa.
