Kapul’s Haro promoted to final squad

EMERGING fullback Godfrey Haro has been promoted to the final national men’s football squad for next month’s Fifa World Cup regional qualifiers in Qatar.
He replaced Giamale Essacu who sustained a hamstring injury during a recent training camp in Port Moresby.
Initially named as a non-travelling reserve, the Southern Strikers fullback will now join the final 25-man squad for the final training camp next week.
Papua New Guinea Football Association technical director Paul Isorua, after consulting the national men’s coaching staff, announced the change yesterday afternoon.
He said the 23-year-old, from Iokea, Gulf, had been part of the train-on squad and had attended all the training camps in Lae and Port Moresby. Haro now joins debutants such Yagi Yasasa, Pala Paul, Mathew David, Stahl Gubag, Ilai Ilarova and Russel Chris.
