NATIONAL Fisheries Authority (NFA) managing director John Kasu says positive efforts by NFA staff have seen a completion of a successful year with three major events.
Kasu said the major events were the Tuna Forum, the 16th Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission meeting and the launch of the 2019 PNG Standards for Fish and Fishery Products achieving a new milestone for the authority.
Kasu said this on Friday during a Christmas luncheon hosted in Port Moresby to thank the staff for their committed service.
“I would like to take this opportunity to greatly commend you all for your effort and contributions throughout this working year and these collective efforts are always critical to the advancement of our core mandate, role and responsibilities each and every year,” Kasu said.
“It is about us working together as a team. We all have a different role to play but working together as team we have and we will continue to achieve many positive things,” he said.
“When we come together and address the many challenges and issues we face, we will overcome them.”
Kasu urged his staff to also put their families first as a number one priority as that would contribute greatly towards a positive working attitude.
