Kaugere club seeking help from sponsors

KAUGERE Seagulls say they are seeking corporate sponsorship to support the club in their Moresby South Rugby League campaign.
“We are in need of a good Samaritan to help cover our affiliation, player registration, equipment and uniforms,” senior player and former Gulf Isapea and Isou Samson Pirika said.
The playmaker, who spent a decade across both Digicel Cup franchises, said Seagulls comprised unemployed youths and students.
Pirika said 90 per cent of the players were from Baimuru, Gulf.
“Our old uniforms need to be replaced with new ones as we have been using them since 2019,” he said.
“We involve youngsters in rugby league to discourage bad activities in our community.”
Former Papua New Guinea Kumul Vicky Moses has committed his time as the head coach to train Seagulls.
He said Seagulls were keen to continue improving their skills and test themselves against the league’s top sides at Moresby South Stadium.
