REGISTRAR of National and Supreme Courts Ian Augerea has been directed by the Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) loan deal to continue his search for the records of related court proceedings.
COI chairman Sir Salamo Injia told the inquiry on Friday that Augerea would be required to provide the case history from the database of court proceedings that were relevant to the UBS loan.
Augerea was also directed to provide the list of hearing dates and a description of the hearing on each day conducted on the proceedings of the leadership tribunal.
Sir Salamo said the direction issued on June 19 was extended to July 3.
He said there were a number of court proceedings that had been brought to the attention of the commission that had been listed.
Sir Salamo said he was interested in the history of the cases.
Augerea, who had appeared briefly before the commission, presented some of the court proceedings but there were some that were yet to be located.
He said he would liaise with the court reporting services team to provide a list of the dates on the court proceedings conducted on each of those cases indicated.
Augerea said most of the proceedings listed were completed.
He said all of them had electronic records which he was able to provide.
Sir Salamo said in his former capacity as the chief justice he had set up the scanning system for all the documents to be stored electronically.
He said the set up was an efficient standard of keeping records and transcripts and the electronic files were as good as the physical files.
The matter was adjourned to Friday.
