THE Kerema Basketball Association tips off its pre-season at the Kerema Sports Oval on Sunday.
Association president Aisi Aua told The National on Monday that seven teams would compete in the upcoming season.
He said the teams were OBM, Hitapuu, Hounds, Urban Fox, K Nohos, Drifters and Kerema Coronation Secondary School Itous.
Aua warned the clubs to meet the association’s affiliation requirement of fielding four teams — a side each in the men’s, women’s, boys’ and girls’ divisions.
“This season’s club affiliation fee is K500 while the player registration fees are K20 for seniors and K10 juniors K10,” he said. The deadline for all payments is on April 28.
Aua advised the clubs to get their administration in order to ensure they were managed well throughout the season.
“We should be serious about this so many raw talents can be identified and exposed to outside competitions,” he said.
“This will help raise the standard of Kerema basketball.
“We will participate in Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea-sanctioned activities and programmes for the benefit of our players, technical officials and administrators.”
