TEAMS in the Kimbe AFL Association grand finals have another week to further prepare themselves after the weekend’s games were deferred to next week.
President Joe Reu said the deferral came at the instruction of provincial administrator Williamson Hosea to prepare for the reception of PNG AFL Commission chairman John Kali, pictured, who is also the PNG high commissioner to Australia.
“We have now postponed our grand finals to next weekend as public servants in Kimbe have been advised by the provincial administrator prepare to host the dignitary for the event,” Reu said.
Kali confirmed that the grand finals had been deferred as per Hosea’s advice.
“The administrator wants to welcome me in Kimbe and so he has postponed the AFL grand finals as he is in Wabag, Enga, attending a governors and administrators conference hosted by the Enga government,” Kali told The National.
