West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel dedicated the province to God when the Assemblies of God (AOG) in the New Guinea Islands held their 70th anniversary in Kimbe last weekend.
He said God did not belong to one church and did not reside in buildings, but in His people.
He thanked church leaders for choosing Kimbe to host the three-day celebrations.
It was a double celebration with New Guinea Islands region having its 50th anniversary while AOG PNG celebrated its 70th anniversary.
Assemblies of God Church started in Kimbe when the early fathers from Sepik were recruited and brought to Kimbe to work there on oil palm plantations.
The church also recognised the early fathers and other church workers by awarding them with gold, silver and bronze anniversary medals and certificates.
