KINA Bank plans to launch new products and services for its customers this year, presenting an exciting digital future for banking in the country.
Chief executive officer Greg Pawson said “by investing in technology and focusing on customer experience, we are building the bank of the future”.
“In 2019, we will launch even more new products and services for customers,” he said.
“We’re looking at an online retail foreign exchange service, contactless payment options such as GooglePay, as well as introducing tap and go credit cards. Customers want to be able to bank anywhere, anytime, anyhow.”
Last year, Kina Bank introduced online loan applications and account opening, which were a huge hit with customers.
Kina Bank has about 85 separate digital-based projects being developed at the moment and have been investing significantly in technology behind the scenes.
Their belief is that banking should simple, convenient and easy to access.
“We want to be digital on the inside as well as digital on the outside. And we’re doing a huge amount of work to make sure that when ANZ customers come across to Kina Bank, it’s seamless for them.”
Kina Bank announced its acquisition of ANZ PNG’s Retail, Commercial and SME business last June.
The project is on track for completion in September when more than 300 staff and 120,000 customers move across to Kina Bank.
“On top of this, we have put in a substantial amount of work to implement a brand new e-switching capability.
“This will allow us to introduce tap and go credit cards, provide Eftpos services; and manage an expanded ATM fleet.”
