KINA Bank showcased their leading technical expertise and plans for a digital future at the TechInnovate Summit last week.
Kina Bank acting chief digital officer Signe Dalsgaard spoke on the progress of their acquisition of ANZ (PNG) and the launch of their new products and channels.
“By investing in technology and focusing on customer experience, we are building the bank of the future,” Dalsgaard told an audience that included Deputy Prime Minister and Attorney-General Davis Steven.
He said 2019 would be a big year for the bank with the launch of new products and channels such as an online retail FX service; contactless options like GooglePay; enhanced cyber security; the next generation of Eftpos terminals and tap and go credit cards.
Dalsgaard also explained that Kina Bank was connected to the central bank’s new switch.
“Kina Bank is the first bank to successfully connect to the Bank of PNG’s central switch,” he said.
“It is very pleasing to see that Kina Bank is leading the way here.”
Kina Bank is a strong promoter of women in technology: Winifred Kula Amini, who heads the bank’s projects team, is also interim president and co-founder of the PNG Digital ICT Cluster.
