LEADING industrial chemicals manufacturer KK Kingston Ltd has relocated its service and hire workshop from its head office premises at MilfordHaven Road to a new location within Lae’s business nerve centre to keep up with customer demands.
The new location at section 30 lot 01 along Sletfjord Street, was necessary to replace the old outgrown services facility to keep up with providing the comprehensive level of products support.
The new service and hire centre, which was officially opened for business last Monday, is capable of housing storage and maintenance areas for diagnostic equipment, light vehicles, machineries, tools and spare parts inventory.
The company has also taken on new staff and vehicles for the division to ensure a more rapid runaround of service tasks to suit customers.
“The centre is our base which allows for a much improved level of support to cover all our customers in Lae, Bulolo, the coast areas and the Highlands,” national service and hire manager, Chris McLeod, said.
McLeod said the company was introducing a rental equipment fleet consisting of equipment such as light towers, boom and scissor lifts, portable welders, air compressors and construction grade tools and equipment.
The rental fleet equipment will be supported by staff who were trained to Australian occupational health and safety standards by a highly trained consultant, Andrew Olsen,  whom the company had engaged specifically for the role.
