KK Kingston Ltd, distributor and manufacturer of industrial products, has opened a new showroom at the Datec compound at Gordon in Port Moresby.
At the showroom launch yesterday, owner and managing director Keith Kingston said this was by far the biggest growth expansion that KK Kingston had embarked on since it started 38 years ago.
KK Kingston is PNG’s leading manufacturer of more than 2,000 household products and employing some 650 workers.
It also is the distributor of hundreds of world-famous, market-leading brand names in tools, hardware, safety products, power generators and more.
Kingston also announced that 15 representatives of some of the big name brands were present at the launch.
He said with the current changes in the market that was largely driven by the PNG LNG project, KK Kingston is now dealing largely with new types of customers who used world renowned brands of quality tools.
Kingston said in a resource-rich country like PNG, and especially now with the LNG project, many big name companies were coming to the country for business and want the best tools of the trade.
The K3.8 million showroom reflects the quality of the products in a modern facility and working environment.
General manager Michael Kingston explained the financial growth of the company in recent times has been due to its successful manufacturing arm, which has now led to a new area on hiring out generators, light towers, elevated work platforms, air compressors and more.
