POLICE in Southern Highlands have arrested a man for allegedly wounding three people with a bush knife on Thursday.
Provincial police commander Chief Supt Martin Lakari confirmed the incident and said it happened at Kagua’s Sumi village, one of the better known fighting zones.
He said the victims were three teenagers – two girls and a boy.
Chief Supt Lakari said the suspect was charged with three counts of causing grievous bodily harm and locked up in the Mendi police cell.
He said the man appeared to have attacked the trio without any reason.
He said the victims were treated in hospital and sent home.
“There is some form of influence, maybe through marijuana or homebrew where communities are witnessing so many mentally ill people roaming around,” he said.
