Koia happy with Christmas family time

PEOPLE celebrate Christmas in their own ways.
And 72-year-old Julie Koia says she is proud that her only son and two nieces treated her to a get-together, bung kaikai and surprise gifts.
As one of a pioneer air hostess in the colonial days under Trans Australia Airlines and transferred to Air Niugini, Koia has always celebrated Christmas at her home at the Air Niugini Village, 5-Mile.
A single mother, Koia said she was from Gabagaba but always spent Christmas at home.
“Christmas is not about getting drunk and partying but to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ,” Koia said.
