FOLLOWING their annual general meeting last week, Koiari Rugby Football League says they are better prepared to roll out their programmes and activities for the year. League vice-president Max Maso told The National that the incorporation of their constitution along with executive board met key requirements from the provincial government.
“The league is flexible and are now better equipped with our compliance in line with the PNG Rugby Football League (PNGRFL),” he said. “We’re also in set in line with Central Dabaris and the Central government which includes the pillars set by the governor in agriculture, sports and tourism. “We are excited and happy that we are all in line with the requirements of all our stakeholders because this makes us more prepared to run our competitions and programmes.”
The introduction of the constitution last week saw the tabling of the competition’s budget and by-laws under the PNGRFL’s restructured ‘New Ireland Model’. The league’s executives said the constitution now brought into perspective proper governance and administrative guidelines for the sport in their area. “What’s important is that we’re being compliant with the restructured policies set the governing body,” league secretary Norris Selu said.
