INTERNAL Revenue Commissioner-General Sam Koim has told employees in Goroka, Eastern Highlands, to use the new office facility to generate revenues and not for anything else.
Koim said all workstations in the new office must be fitted with modern technological facilities, for staff performance monitoring.
“Similarly, GPS tracking devices would be fitted in all fleets to trace staff movement,” Koim said.
He said the 60 per cent of Goods and Services Tax to be generated through compliance work, would be given back to the provincial government.
IRC Commissioner for Services Pauline Bre said providing a new office was meant to improve staff productivity, capacity to provide quality customer services.
Eastern Highlands Governor Peter Numu said the new office was an Independence Day gift to the people of the province.
Numu pledged to support the IRC with two new vehicles.
