Kokopo car hire company marks 3rd year

FRANGIPANI Car Hire in Kokopo East New Britain celebrated three years of a successful operation recently with a strong commitment to continue working with the provincial administration and the community to develop tourism and travel in East New Britain.
Director Janet Sios said in a short space of three years their company had been able to expand its business into New Ireland, West New Britain, and Port Moresby, with plans to open branches in Madang and Milne Bay provinces.
“We are not just about hiring cars for business or pleasure but giving back to the community in whatever way we can,” Ms Sios said.
She said the company had been involved in responding to the needs of the disabled in East New Britain with their assistance to Olympic champion Francis Kompaon as a testimony to their commitment to the cause.
Ms Sios paid tribute to the Governor Leo Dion whose focus on the developing the tourism industry in the province had been an inspiration for Frangipani to participate meaningfully in the industry.
Ms Sios used the occasion to make a commitment to revive the former Miss Frangipani beauty contest as a main vehicle to revive East New Britain’s efforts in charity drives.
“Nobody could dispute the fact that we have some of the most beautiful girls in PNG here in East New Britain and with the history of the Frangipani in this province and my car hire business, I want us to seriously consider bringing the quest back as a vehicle through which this province can respond to fund raising efforts for charity,” she said.
