Kokopo pays students’ fees

EAST New Britain’s Kokopo development authority has paid K855,000 for its 643 tertiary students nationwide this year.
The payments were released last Monday by Kokopo mayor Isidor Bonga on behalf of Kokopo MP Emil Tammur.
Bonga told representatives from education institutions that the students had applied and met Kokopo subsidy programme’s criteria.
“This is the highest number of students to receive the tuition fee programme that was initiated eight years ago,” he said.
“We will continue to support tertiary students because they understand how parents are going through during this time of economic crisis.”
