THE Kumul Petroleum Holdings Ltd (KPHL) has welcomed two local oil and gas experts back to the country to join the national oil and gas company (NOC).
Alex Goiye and Kila Pidi are employed by the NOC as general managers.
Managing director Wapu Sonk said their return would “add value to Kumul Petroleum’s growing interest”.
“(It) speaks volume for the kind of locally educated Papua New Guinean who have returned to their country.
“They are back with a wealth of experience and expertise in their respective field of engineering,” Sonk said.
He said Goiye and Pidi knew that KPHL was well positioned to be one of the strong and dominant oil and gas players in the region.
Pidi is the general manager, engineering and projects – facilities and infrastructure.
Goiye is the general manager, subsurface and geoscience.
Pidi has been involved in many other oil and gas projects.
He is a professional engineer, project manager, Capex and Opex cost estimation analyst.
Goiye is an experienced oil, gas energy professional with both public and private sector experience here and abroad.
He has provided his services to clients such as Chevron Texaco (PNG), Parker Drilling (USA), Department of Petroleum and Energy (PNG), Palladin Resources (UK), TRUenergy (Aust), AGL Energy (Aust) and Oil Search (Aust/PNG).
While in PNG, the Ministry of Petroleum appointed Goiye as petroleum inspector, regulating the country’s petroleum industry.
