Petroleum and Energy Minister Kerenga Kua has commended Santos and its board of directors for visiting Papua New Guinea (PNG) on the eve of the company’s first anniversary of its merger with Oil Search.
At an event hosted by Santos in Port Moresby last week, Kua congratulated chairman Keith Spence and managing-director and chief executive Kevin Gallagher for their decision to convene the Santos board meeting in the country.
“I am very happy with the level of engagement by Santos and especially its board of directors.
“This is a very healthy start, and I am encouraged by this,” Kua said.
“For the Santos board to come to PNG from Australia, including the US, to hold an important meeting demonstrates to us that the industry led by corporate organisations such as Santos, ExxonMobil PNG and TotalEnergies have great confidence in PNG,” he added.
