THE Papua New Guinea LNG Kumuls yesterday presented a signed 2019 Pacific test jersey to PNG Australia Alumni Association for auction.
The jersey, signed by entire Kumuls squad, was presented by captain Rhyse Martin to the association vice-president Dr Pamela Kamya after a training session at the National Football Stadium yesterday.
Kamya thanked the Kumuls and Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) for engaging with the association.
She said the jersey meant a lot and the money raised from its auction would be used to support disadvantaged children in Port Moresby.
“We are excited that the Kumuls and PNGRFL have taken such an initiative to support us,” Kamya said during the presentation.
“The auctioned jersey will help us assist some of the disadvantaged children who we’ve identified around the Reinbo area.
“They are living along the drains, they don’t have books, lights and clothing. We’ll be using this to help them.”
Kamya said the association would be hosting their annual fundraising dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby from 6pm-10pm tomorrow.
Funds raised from the event will be used to help the association run community projects and initiatives around the country.
