Lack of discipline takes down nation

Letters

PAPUA New Guinea is losing many of its human resources because of the lack of good personal discipline of individuals.
By looking at our current situation, many young people have betrayed their own future into useless and meaningless addictions like smoking marijuana and consuming alcohol.
Some even resort to illegal activities that they are now captives of.
Primary, high and secondary, college, technical, vocational, Fode and many university students lack good discipline.
In school, they smoke marijuana and consume alcohol.
They destroyed facilities and act uncivilised and unprofessional.
What is the future of an individual without good personal discipline?
What is the future of this nation without good personal discipline?
Good education does not guarantee good discipline.
Discipline is different from education.
Discipline is the practice of training yourself to obey rules and orders.
It refers to an individual having good values, behaviour, and attitude.
Education is the process of teaching, training and learning skills and knowledge.
In order for a person to act civilised and professional, the person needs an excellent and high standard of discipline and education.
You cannot be a civilised person without good and strict discipline of yourself.
Betel nut stains are everywhere in our towns and cities because of the lack of good discipline.
Carelessly littering of rubbish just one meter away from the rubbish drum is insane.
High standard of discipline and quality education are complements for a civilised society.
It is sad to see that we have many educated elites having no good discipline. It is sad to see thousands of school children in all levels of education having no good discipline.
Providing only quality education based on the teaching and learning of skills and knowledge about our problems and solutions does not guarantee a civilised society.
Discipline does.
In order for PNG to be taken back from the hands of the wicked, students in all levels of education across the country needs to start disciplining themselves.
Good discipline is what we need.
Follow simple rules.
Do what is right and skip doing what is wrong.
Not having a good foundational personal discipline is the very reason why we have so many politicians, bureaucrats, and public servants reaping away the wealth of this nation because of the spirit of selfishness.
Remember, when we are undisciplined, evil sees an opportunity to take down our nation.
