Lae court orders police to arrest driver

A COURT has ordered police to arrest a man after he failed to appear in court for three consecutive mentions.
Lae Committal Court magistrate Pious Tapil said he had forfeited bail to Adrian Nomuki, 45, from Buin, in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
Nomuki was charged with negligent driving causing bodily injuries.
Magistrate Tapil fixed May 30 for mention.
Police allege that on Nov 4, 2021, Nomuki failed to indicate with the vehicle’s signal lights when he made at a U-turn near the Markham Bridge on the Wau road in Morobe. Police said that an on-coming vehicle carrying seven passengers avoided Nomuki’s vehicle then spun and rolled over onto the opposite side of the road injuring all passengers.
The injured were taken to Angau Memorial Hospital emergency ward in Lae.
