Lae MP Rosso sees education as crucial

EDUCATION is a priority in the development of Lae, says local MP John Rosso.
Rosso said this while presenting K100,000 to Immanuel Lutheran School for the construction of an eight-in-one classroom building recently.
Lae City Authority chairman and deputy prime minister Rosso said his board was committed to ensuring that taxpayers’ monies were prudently managed and used to deliver vital and quality infrastructure for schools in the city.
“Immanuel Lutheran School enrols up to 100 students due to lack of classrooms and so with the construction of the eight-in-one double classroom, the school can increase enrolment by up to 800 students,” Rosso said.
The school was one of a few recognised Flexible Open Distance Education schools in Morobe and it provided a second chance for children, so it was fitting that the authority supported its operations for the benefit of the people in Lae, he said.
