Lae softball completes second round with eight teams

LAE Softball Association completed its second round of games with eight clubs taking part according to president Lindsay Pulu.
Men’s A grade — IST Manolos, Stormers, Jetz, Admiralty Marlins, Bismark, Moro, Tigers, Old Stars; Women’s A grade — Stormers, IST Manolos, Bismark, Elces, Jetz, Old Stars; Men’s B grade — Jetz, Bismark, Admiralty Marlins, IST Manolos, Tigers and Moro.
Moro is the new club participating in the 2018 season while Old Stars are a club of veteran players making their presence felt in the LSA competition.
The Old Stars men’s and women’s teams were put together in order to show that softball can be played by older people particularly in their 40s and 50s.
It is hoped that this will encourage more people including youngsters to take up the sport.
According to the Lae Softball Association the club affiliation is K500 with the player registration set a K10.
