Lako sides back with bang after 6-year hiatus

LAKO Development and Lako One made their presence felt after a six-year absence in the Southern Nines at Bava Park in Port Moresby.
Yesterday, Lako Development beat Davage Sharks 20-12 and Lako One cruised past Bips Patu Two 30-12 to remain unbeaten after day two.
“We are serious about our campaign,” Lako Development’s Roa Eobua said.
“But we aware that Coast Brothers, Erima Laumas, Waidex, Miro Koivi and North Dingos Green are the teams to beat, with the experience and wealth of players they have in their sides.”
Meanwhile, defending champions Coast Brothers remain on course to make the finals with two wins from as many matches but coach Colin Geno has warned his players not to get ahead of themselves.
“We can’t underestimate any team because they are just as good as us,” he said.
“They are here to beat us. It’s easy to win games but it’s hard to defend the crown and we are all working hard towards that.”
