Landowners get direction

Letters

DID the local people in the area of the LNG project fully understand the Environment Impact Statements (EIS)?
That is from Parts 1-4, and did they make any feedbacks?
The Environment Impact Statement was bulldozed through in Kokopo, East New Britain.
It was a big paper and making recommendations was difficult because it was given to the attorney-general only on the night before the meeting.
The feedbacks were being done by the students of University of Papua New Guinea and PNG University of Technology on behalf of the landowners in the resource areas.
Therefore, with regards to the recent earthquake in the project sites and the nearby provinces, I urge the people to have a look at Part 2, Chapter 10 of the EIS before making further comments.
