Laumas, Isou to kick off Southern league finals tomorrow

THE Southern Super League (SSL) finals kick off tomorrow with the third placed Funeral Home Laumas taking on fifth placed Gulf Isou Development in the elimination final at the Moresby South Stadium (1pm kick-off).
The Laumas, who boast a strong forward pack with former PNG Hunter and Kumul Adam Korave in their line-up, will be looking to go one better tomorrow against a gutsy Isou side.
The second elimination final will see the Central Dabaris (fourth) go up against recently promoted Buria Reds, who moved into the sixth spot following the exclusion of the Suburban Duck this week.
Competition secretary Indy Verena told The National yesterday that the fourth placed Ducks were removed for non-payment of affiliation fees giving way for the Dabaris to finish in fourth spot.
Gulf Isou moved into the fifth spot and the seventh placed Reds were promoted into the top six.
“We’re using the McIntyre system for the top six teams only so the recent decision over the Ducks has seen some changes to the line-up of our finals,” he said.
“The Burias get a chance in the top six so they will be another strong side added into our finals schedule.
“The Port Moresby Vipers academy (first place) and Moresby South Blacks (second) will be having the week off while we go ahead with the eliminations.
