A SENIOR lawyer facing fraud-related charges was yesterday discharged by the National Court after the public prosecutor decided not to proceed with the case.
Justice Teresa Berrigan discharged the case against Rio Fiocco, 57, who was charged with forgery and uttering false documents in October, 1989.
The public prosecutor presented a declaration notice that they would not provide any other indictment against him.
Justice Berrigan also ordered that Fiocco’s bail be refunded and his passport be returned.
Fiocco told The National outside court that his legal team had done an excellent job in handling the matter.
He said they had believed all along that there was no evidence against him.
