THE Wom Community in East Sepik are pleased with their LLG president for fulfilling his commitment made early this year.

Wewak Urban president Francis Hevu made a commitment of K10,000 for Wom Central Elementary, which he presented to the school chairman, Sylvester Maru, last month.

Maru said the money would be used to purchase uniforms for the students and to build new staff houses for the two teachers and classrooms for students.

The school was established three years ago and the president stepped in at the right time to help.

The elementary school caters for more than 80 students.

Maru said the elementary schools were the base of the education system, therefore student deserve to be treated well so when they grew up they could be good students in the future.

He said when the environment was good for learning the students would be happy to learn. If the students sat on the sand or on the floor they would lose concentration and not fully assimilate what was taught.
