Up to our leaders to fix this problem

THE National and Hela governments must admit their loss of control over the province.
Neither declarations of states of emergencies nor any amount of money put up to restore order will save Hela.
The chaos and demise of the province that is being observed now and will develop further into an uncontrollable state was prophesied by a man from the Kigiria Mountains in the 18th century.
The Gigira Laitepo Prophecy relates to the current LNG Gas that when exported in crude form will bring destruction for Hela and PNG but when exported as a processed item will bring prosperity.
The agreement’s signed off in Kokopo was to export the gas from the Kigiria Mountains in crude form.
ExxonMobil can be excused but not for late Agiru, who spearheaded the signing agreements.
Ahiru, being a son of Hela, knew very well the prophecy relating to that gas and which specifically stated that “sikin red man bai kam na askim lo paia, yu laitim na givim, noken givim as paia olgeta”.
With due respect to late Agiru, a senior statesman and an outstanding son of Hela, he signed off this deal with ExxonMobil against the prophetic warnings by someone; who, in his days, never had a clue of other people’s existence around Hela or the rest of the world.
That prophecy was fulfilled when Exxon came but we erred by signing against the gas being exported in a processed form.
Hela will continue to deteriorate and family and organisational structures will dismantle with its effects rippling into the nation’s economy.
Law and order enforcement agencies will fail despite trying their utmost.
The Churches will feel the pain of this lawlessness. Government services will never reach the people.
I lived with the people of the Hides and Komo for four years and have come to witness the start of the destruction of Hela according to the prophecy. I have thousands of friends in this wonderful place with a unique and rich culture.
I feel for them but am sour in my stomach for the failure by the leadership at the National and Provincial levels which should have negotiated with the shipment of Hides Gas in a processed form rather than in its current arrangement.
Hela leaders cannot lead through rhetoric but seriously consider revisiting the Kokopo Agreements to salvage what little they can to move in the direction of the Gigira Laitepo Prophecy.
