THE Port Moresby Rugby League will act as an agent for its players recruited by domestic or overseas competitions.

The need for such an arrangement has been mooted by the PRL board previously and but it has decided that this was the appropriate time to act to make it a policy.  This would mean that for any player from PRL-registered club to sign up with another league competition, there would have to be an agreement signed between by parties involved.

And PRL wants other leagues in the country to do the same for their players.

PRL board chairman Dr James Naipao said as the playeragents, PRL would negotiate with PNG National Rugby League franchises, PNG Hunters and PNG Kumuls and even overseas clubs for the PRL-registered players to be released.

He said registered PRL players should respect this decision as it would benefit their clubs as well.
