Kandrian Gloucester MP and former opposition leader Joseph Lelang has expressed anger at recent media reports that he has joined the Pangu Pati.
Lelang said he had resigned only as the opposition leader and would sit on the backbench of the Opposition when Parliament reconvenes today.
Lelang, in a statement yesterday, said: “What we should be focused on is discussing how best leadership in this country can work to address many of the big challenges that we are faced with.”
He condemned opportunists who come by and see leaders, take photos, and spin stories.
“Those who engage in such petty politics perpetrated by self-serving opportunists should be condemned in the strongest term possible,” he said.
Lelang said he was a senior MP in this Parliament and was catching up with colleague members for a quiet afternoon coffee when opportunists decided to take photos and make up stories.
