Let the Bible prevail in our faith, beliefs

I WISH like to comment on recent letters regarding the Bible and the Church doctrines referred to in the Hail Mary Prayer and Mary being the Mother of God.

Over the years, the ideology of Mary being the mother of God has led to venerations of Mary in many different forms, this in spite of total lack of texts that speak of Mary in any role of importance except as the humble biologic mother of Jesus (Luke 1:26-38 46-56).

The Mother-of-God teaching has been developed and adorned by the Roman Catholic Church.

The true purpose of having a religious faith is to radiate the spiritual counsels and truths that are its essence into as many souls as it can reach.

Paul had recognised the danger of contamination and perversion of the good news when he wrote to the Galatians and Colossian Christians:

“Look out: perhaps this may be someone who will carry you off as his prey through the Philosophy and empty deception according to the traditions of men, according to elementary things of the world and not according to Christ. – Galatians 1:7-9; Colossians 2:8; 1 Corinthians 1:22-23.

So let’s not judge (Matthew 7:1-2) any religion, church, faith etc but adhere to the binding precepts, the true histories and the holy doctrines of the Bible and thank Him for the blessings we so little merit.

The inspired Bible should serve as a reliable measuring rod for true and acceptable worship – 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Let the Bible prevail.
