Let’s cooperate for education

Letters

I WRITE on behalf of many innocent parents and children regarding the current situation and debate between Fr Jan Czuba of Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology and the Institute of Business Studies University (IBSU) administration.
The National Government strategic development plans focus in the short and long terms focus on educating Papua New Guineans as a priority.
It has supported free education for over a decade.
It wants to build more infrastructure to cater for the growing demands of parents and sponsors to add value through affordable quality education for its citizens.
Our Government is not able to deliver its strategic direction alone.
It will continue to require support from private institutions and churches to participate in the overall expected outcomes for PNG.
The ‘public private partnership’ principles, that were provided under the government directives, encourage this very needy education sector of our human lives.
How can the government be prioritising education for its citizens while its department secretary is not supporting the strategic direction?
Why would the good Fr Jan Czuba destroy other institutions which are willing to participate meaningfully, and add value to the development of our country through education? Why would Fr Jan Czuba deprive our children the liberty to be educated?
PNG requires a wealthy, healthy, educated population to drive changes and add value to our developing country directly.
Our citizens need continued Government support to be educated.
