NINE local level government presidents and seven appointed officials were sworn in as members of the Oro assembly last Friday.
Deborah Emboge was the only woman among her male counterparts and was sworn in as the chairperson of women’s affairs.
Oro Governor Gary Juffa called on the leaders to put aside politics and work together for the next three years ahead.
“You all have a shorter term in politics,” he said.
“Thus, I urge you all to leave petty politics and all other engagements that might drag us back aside.
“Let us come together in the best way we can to bring greater ease to the burdens of our people.”
Juffa said the provincial Government wanted to see all of the assembly members take leading roles in various areas of significant importance to drive change.
