Life as a prostitute

Letters

ELAINA’S story (The Weekender, The National) shows the failure of the country to address issues that are afflicting the heart of our communities and societies.
I understand that as a developing nation we are faced with so many socio- economic problems that put enormous strain on individuals, and as a young lass with minimal education this would have been seen as the main reason why Elaina finds herself in the situation she is in.
But Elaina’s story also begs the question whether she and many young Papua New Guineans in similar circumstances taken the time to pray about their situation and allow God to guide them.
I do not see why your newspaper published the story because it only promotes prostitution.
I feel for Elaina, and I know that so many young Papua New Guineans are in the same situation.
In this story, Elaina’s hope lies in God. She can still be a blessing to her family if she stops what she is doing and ask God for guidance
There is still hope.
