Lihir Gold names N. American investor relations rep

GLOBAL gold producer Lihir Gold Ltd (LGL) has moved to provide greater focus on its North American investor communications through the appointment of an investor relations officer based in Denver, Colorado.
The appointment reflects the requirement for the company to have closer relationships with the investor community in the major markets in the region.
The company has appointed Cheryl A Martin to the role, responsible for LGL’s investor communications and marketing throughout the US and Canada.
Ms Martin has worked in both oil and gas and mining for 35 years, focused on the investor relations profession since 1980.
For eight years, she was vice-president of North American investor relations for Gold Fields Ltd, one of the world’s largest gold mining companies listed on both the Johannesburg and New York stock exchanges. 
Prior to this, she was the director of investor relations for Canyon Resources Corp and Wharf Resources, both gold mining companies, and in the 1980s, she conducted investor relations for several oil and gas companies in Denver, Colorado. – CNN
